Data deletion

What deleting removes, what stays online so published draws can still be checked, and how to ask us to delete data about you.
Deleting a giveaway
Deleting a giveaway removes, at once, its posts, every comment collected for it, and the comment text and display names saved with its sealed draws for your view of the winners.
Its sealed draws stay online as certificates, so they can still be checked. A certificate shows the giveaway's title, the posts the entries came from with how many comments each gave, the draw's settings and result, and the frozen entry list: each entry's platform, comment ID, author ID and username. It never shows comment text or display names.
A sealed draw that hasn't picked its winners yet still picks them, so its certificate shows a result: a draw using drand's public random number when that number comes out, and a draw using the offline seed at once, before the giveaway is deleted.
Deleting your account
In Sealdraw, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes, at once and for good:
- your giveaways, with their posts and every comment collected for them;
- your connected accounts and their tokens. Google access is revoked for you; for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, also remove Sealdraw in that platform's settings;
- your sessions, so every device is signed out;
- your ways to sign in and any sign-in links that weren't used.
Your published draw certificates stay online, and draws still waiting for their winners pick them, as described above. The comment text and display names saved with those draws for your view of the winners are not part of any certificate; they are erased at once too.
Removing one connection
Remove the connection in Settings → Connected accounts: its tokens are deleted at once. You can also revoke Sealdraw's access in your Google, Facebook, Instagram or TikTok settings.
If you commented on a giveaway post
Email hello@sealdraw.com with your platform, your username and the post you commented on. We delete your comments from every giveaway that still has them and remove you from their entry lists within 30 days, and confirm by email.
Removal from a published certificate
A certificate lists the entries of a draw that already happened, so that anyone can check it. To ask for your entry to be removed, email hello@sealdraw.com with the certificate's link (it starts with /d/) and your username. We review every request and reply within 30 days.
Your username is shown for reference only and isn't part of the draw's fingerprint, so it can be taken off a certificate without breaking the check. The comment ID and author ID can't be: the fingerprint covers them, and removing them would make the published draw impossible to verify.
